Jorn Winther (Jorn is pronounced Yorn)
was born in Denmark, where he studied speech and drama at the
University of Copenhagen.
In Canada Mr. Winther was fortunate to study with Tyrone Guthrie
at the Stratford Shakespearean Theater.
After having owned and operated his own dramatic academy in
Victoria, British Colombia, Canada, the city of Victoria awarded
Mr. Winther a full scholarship to Stanford University in Palo
Alto, California.
At Stanford Mr. Winther continued his theatrical studies as well
as pursuing film and television expertise, and was awarded the
Stanford/Lasky Scholarship.
Mr. Winther was
brought to the United States by a media conglomerate, and his
remarkable career began in earnest. (see below)

Now a veteran
producer/director/writer, Jorn Winther has always been involved
with the artistic process of film and television production. He
has created and sold programs, written dramatic scripts, created
story lines, edited scripts on a daily basis, headed story
meetings with his writers and has been creatively responsible for
the final product. He is one of the few directors in US whose
theatrical background enables him to communicate with actors, and
his people skills are demonstrated by the variety of entertainers
and celebrities he has directed.
Mr. Winther is
very well connected in the business as further confirmed by his 6
children being firmly established in the industry. They have been
involved with 52 features between them. His son
Kim
Winther was co-producer of Mr. and Mrs Smith and The
Day After Tomorrow.
Peter Winther has just finished writing “Waystation”, which he
will produce and direct (Peter was co- producer of The Patriot
and Independence Day). etc). Jorn's daughter Lisa
Winther wrote and is producing The Door On The Other Side.
Michael Winther is a marvelous Broadway actor/singer.
Lars Winther is a major picture 1st AD. Steven
Winther is a sports producer in New York.
